Update

I wanted to write a quick update to let everyone know I didn't have the bone marrow biopsy yesterday. The doctors have decided to wait until my counts begin to rise again, that way I should only have to have one instead of two. I'm content with that. It could possibly be by the end of the week, but I don't know a day or time yet. Currently my counts are still down and I'm still neutropenic. I was told it can take 5-6 weeks for the blood to rebuild after the start of chemo so it may be another week or so before they begin to rise.

I'm still in the hospital. I started with a new team of doctors on Monday (now working with Dr. Doll as my oncologist) and he said I'm not going anywhere until my counts start coming up, so I guess I'm here for a while still. I've been running fevers and having some nausea and upset stomach, plus the rash is still very, very present. Overall I haven't been feeling very good but they have meds to help with a lot and I've taken advantage of them. They're doing blood cultures just about everytime I spike a fever, and those get really old. Most are from my Hickman line but the ones from my arm are rough.

Thanks to Meam, Rowena, and Abby for the cards, and thanks to Alea and Grandma Edie for the packages. (Yes, Alea, it finally came!)

Amy,
I go to church with Rachel in Owensboro, KY. We as a church have been praying for you. I am so sorry to hear about your relapse, but trust God is accomplishing His Holy Will. THere is an internet site called Grace Gems you should subscribe to. It sends you a quote everyday. Also you can go to the site and get all kinds of sermons, quotes and even excerpts from great books online. The really neat thing is you can look them up by author or better yet thematic. So in other words type in discouragement, anxiety etc... an there you go!! Anyway I am praying for you and want to send you a quote from Octavius Winslow.
Here it is...

Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you.

It is by an act of simple, prayerful faith we transfer our cares and anxieties, our sorrows and needs, to the Lord.
Jesus invites you come and lean upon Him, and to lean with all your might upon that arm that balances the universe, and upon that bosom that bled for you upon the soldier's spear!
But you doubtingly ask, "Is the Lord able to do this thing for me?" And thus, while you are debating a matter about which there is not the shadow of a shade of doubt, the burden is crushing your gentle spirit to the dust.
And all the while Jesus stands at your side and lovingly says, "Cast your burden upon me and I will sustain you" I am God Almighty. I bore the load of your sin and condemnation up the steep of Calvary, and the same power of omnipotence, and the same strength of love that bore it all for you then, is prepared to bear your need and sorrow now. Roll it all upon Me!
"Child of my love!! Lean Hard!! Let Me feel the pressure of your care. I know your burden child! I shaped it, I poised it in My own hand and make no proportion of its weight to your unaided strength. For even as I laid it on, I said I shall be near, and while she leans on Me, this burden shall be Mine, not hers. So shall I keep My child within the circling arms of My own love. Here lay it down! Do not fear to impose it on a shoulder which upholds the government of worlds! Yet closer come! You are not near enough! I would embrace your burden so I might feel My child reposing upon MY breast. You love Me! I know it . Doubt not then, but loving me....LEAN HARD!!

I'm glad that the biposy was deferred for awhile, at least. Maybe enough time to come up with a painkiller you don't react to? :) Hope the rest of your week starts looking up.

(I heard Gary made QUITE a splash at Elisabeth's shower! A lady's man already.)

Hi Wilhoite family:

I have been requesting prayers from all God's elect for you all. I am confident that you are so covered in that area but that there is always room for more.

Question is, do you need anything?
Prayer you have, but do you need help with anything....physical needs, family needs etc.? Can I send you anything, even if it is anything that would just make your day pass better? Please let me know. I am so uplifted by your testimony, if there is anything I can do to return the favor, let me know.

Wish I could have been at Elisabeth's shower to meet that sweet baby. It is my earnest prayer that I will be able to meet you all at Elisabeth and Patrick's reception. We can celebrate so many things by God's grace!!!!

You are in my prayers daily, and I'm serious about helping if you need anything, ok? Elisabeth knows how to get in touch with me.

In Christ's abiding love,
Leah Corcoran

Amy, Brandon, and All,

Our computer went to sleep for a while from last evening until today. When it woke up your entry was there. Glad to hear from you. Many ask about you and do remember you in prayer. Gary was a really good boy in church Sunday. We enjoyed having him here.

Hope your rash diminishes soon and that you can rest well. May the Lord sustain you continually.

We Love You,
Don and Lilan

Bless you. When I think of what i consider loss and what you are going through. I bow my head in shame. I'm unworthy of all that God has given me. We are aleins here on earth. Heaven is our home. May god bless you today and bring your counts up to where He wants them.

Amy,
The Unity Church has a prayer you might also find helpful. It helps me when I am feeling particularly alone, weak, depressed, sick, etc. It goes...

The light of God surrounds me.
The love of God enfolds me.
The power of God protects me.
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is, and all is well.

The neat thing about the prayer is that you can pray it for a group of people or someone special, like
The light of God surronds Amy, or
The light of God surrounds you, or
The light of God surrounds us, or
The light of God surrounds America.

It's the one I have been praying for you along with thanking God for the highest and best for you and your family.

God has you in the palm of his hand and all is well.

Lots of love,
Your Dad's Cousin Barb

I second Leah's comment...please let us know if there is anything we can do for you, anything we can send or say that could make your burden easier in any way.

We love you!

I have been out of town, and just checked on you. I'm sorry you are feeling so crummy (maybe that's not strong enough). I was thinking of you before I read your updates, and the verse about the outward vs. inward man came to mind, then I saw it on your blog! I prayed for you tonight.
Love,
Carrie

Dear Amy,

Since I found your website I have been praying for you and your family every single day. I ache for you that you must endure such an awful trial and continue to plead to God to give you strength and courage. You are an inpsiration beyond words but I know what you would rather be is is well. I pray for your wellness and your recovery.

Praying seems like such a small thing to do for you. But I know that it is much more than this world can often offer. Be well, Amy. Keep the faith.

April
