Bone Marrow Biopsy #5 Update

I'm fever free for a while so I thought I would take this opportunity to update. The results of my bone marrow biopsy looked good. No sign of leukemic blasts. We are still waiting for my counts to rise and then I'll have another biopsy. That is probably my biggest prayer request right now, that my counts would rise and the fevers would break and I could start coming off all the drugs. I've been using Ativan to help me sleep a lot lately. It seems to be the best way to deal with everything.

I'm still struggling with my appetite, nausea and vomiting. I've definitely lost weight but I think the Lord is preserving my body in that most of my nutritional levels are looking o.k. with daily blood draws. I am having trouble with potassium. It has been very low due to some of the drugs I'm on. It's hard to take through IV and I am not tolerating it very well otherwise.

They took my Hickman out in the middle of the night (early Friday morning). I had cultures drawn today. If those come back clean I'll be getting another Hickman or whatever Barnes prefers. The doctors are consulting with them. I'm very anxious to have it back as I really don't have any veins left for morning blood draws. And I think the IVs are very uncomfortable.

Thanks to Pastor and Mrs. Preusch for the encouragement today. Thank you also to Grandpa and Grandma O, Lizzie, Meam, Kim N, Calzones, and Applegates for the cards.

Amy, and Family;

You sound good tonight. Hope you can rest and have a good night too.
We are thankful for the time today.

We hold you in thought, and in prayer before the Lord. May He continue to give you strength.

We pray the counts will come up and that the port can be reinstalled soon.

Love To You All,
Don and Lilan

Amy, Brandon, and all,
So thankful to know about the results of the sibling blood tests. We were praying for someONE to be a match ... God certainly multiplied an answer to remind HE is in control! Thanks, as always, for updating us on your present needs. We do pray for each of these needs -- bringing them before the Lord on your behalf. Your continued perseverance through this trial speaks a testimony that is reaching so many. Hope you have a restful night!
Love to each,
Clayton, Lisa, Sadie, and Maggie

Dear Amy,

Again today you were on my mind as I started my day in prayer. I had prayed over the weekend for good news with the results of your biopsy and for God to bring you physical relief from the side effects of all you endure.

I was thrilled to read the good news of your biopsy results and a smile crossed my face, joy for you that good news was delievered. Joy that God is so good and faithful.

I continue to pray for a break in the fevers, your counts to be right on target...for peace and comfort to be wrapped around you.

My prayers will continue for you :-)

Hi there Amy,

So glad to hear that your fevers have receeded for the time being.

We will continue to pray for the other matters, and for your strength of spirit. You're doing so well, but even the strongest person grows tired and weak. You can continue with His' continued aid.

You ARE such a blessing to us all, Amy. Love you!

Rachel

Thank you for being so willing to put yourself out there and share all the ups and downs of your ordeal. I will continue to pray for strength for you and your family. Thanks for being so strong!

Thanks, Amy, your blog updates are a blessing to us and we continue to pray for you many times a day. I know it gets overwhelming sometimes, and you need others to lift you in prayer when you feel almost too weak to pray for yourself. May God bless you, give you a good night and even better day tomorrow. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers continually. We love you, Grandpa Ed and Grandma Linda

Amy. Good morning! Just wanted to tell you once again how much you are loved. I don't think you can have any idea how much we all care for you...even strangers whom you've never met. We are all carrying you in our hearts and prayers.

One of my friends out here told me that she woke up early in the morning and couldn't get you out of her head...so she laid in bed and prayed for you.

God continues to place you on the minds of His people, and we continue to pray.
